SBA Small Business Procurement Scorecard – Reading Between the LinesPosted: July 18, 2012
The SBA has released its 2011 Small Business Procurement Scorecard, which compares actual procurement results data to the 2011 goals and the 2010 actual. The scorecard lays out prime versus subcontractor numbers, for each category of special certification.
Then there are seven “success factors” that rate the government’s progress towards their support of small business and special groups in a variety of ways.
As blogger Steven Koprince, a partner at Petefish, Immel, Heeb & Hird LLP writes, this year’s SBA scorecard is not good news for small business, because all but one category (service-disabled veteran-owned) showed lower procurement levels than the previous year. Be sure to also read the comments, below Steven’s post, for more interesting dialogue about the threat of insourcing and the overly complicated certification process.
